It is with heavy hearts we mourn the loss of Tom Beach.

Tom was not only a member of our organization, but our dear friend. As an EMT Instructor, he helped train numerous responders still serving Crown Point and surrounding areas.

After the 9/11/01 attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City, Tom and other EMS Providers from Crown Point responded to administer aid and assist in relief efforts to a city dealing with the greatest loss to emergency services our nation had ever seen. This further demonstrated his love of helping people on their worst days and usually putting a smile on their face in the process.

Even in his retirement from Emergency Services Tom was never in too much of a hurry to stop in for a visit while out on a walk with his dog and never left us without a laugh.

Thank You, Mr. Beach for your time and dedication over the years. Thank you for putting the needs of others before yourself, and thank you for teaching us to look for the light in the dark.

Rest Easy, Tom. You’ll be greatly missed.

It’s been a festive weekend at A.E. Phelps Fire & Rescue.

Saturday, Chief 140, Engine 142 and Utility 147 were decorated by our members who attended the parade of lights in Ticonderoga.

Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. Claus stopped by for a visit at our station.

We can’t thank our members enough for taking time out of their busy holiday season to continue to do what they do, even taking time to hang lights over the bay doors and decorate the meeting hall in single digit temperatures and frigid windchill.
