EBT users, make sure you activate your new, more secure card when you receive it, the old ones will stop working!
Maryland is one of the first states to roll out new, more secure, āchip-and-tapā cards for Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) cardholders.
Any Anne Arundel County residents receiving Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits should activate their new card by September 30, 2026. To learn more, visit dhs.maryland.gov/ebt-updates/.
