🔥 HARDIN COUNTY: LET’S TEACH THE NEXT GENERATION WHAT "NEVER FORGET" REALLY MEANS. 🔥

To our current students, September 11, 2001, is a page in a history textbook. On Saturday, September 12, let’s make it a living lesson in sacrifice, community, and honor. We are calling on all Hardin County families, teachers, student-athletes, clubs, and civic groups to step up. Our registration numbers are low, and we need a packed stadium to show our local heroes—including the incredible youth in our Junior Firefighter Program—that this community stands behind them. Whether you are a first responder climbing in full gear or a resident walking the track with your kids, every single step honors the 343 firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice.

🇺🇸 SCHOOL & COMMUNITY CHALLENGE: We want to see our local sports teams, student organizations, and school staff showing up in full force. Form a team, walk together, and keep the legacy alive.

A PDS (Particularly Dangerous Situation) TORNADO WATCH has been issued until 11pm tonight for all of West Tennessee. Storms will begin to fire up over the next couple hours in our area. Scattered Supercells are expected and a tornado could develop with any supercell that goes up as well as up to baseball size hail. As the evening goes on, the tornado threat will decrease but the storms will become more widespread and still be intense with strong winds highly likely. PLEASE stay weather aware tonight, this is a very dangerous situation tonight!

🔥FIRE DANGER ON THE RISE🔥

Starting this Sunday through next Monday, we ask you to postpone outdoor burning due to extremely dry conditions. We are in a level 3 drought, folks, and that is not changing anytime soon.

Understanding How Weather Factors Impact Fire Safety:
Low Relative Humidity: When the air is dry, it pulls moisture out of vegetation. Dry leaves, twigs, and grass become "fine fuels" that ignite almost instantly with a single spark.

Drought Conditions: Prolonged dry spells leave larger fuels, like logs and deep brush, dangerously dry. In a drought, fires burn deeper into the ground and are much harder for firefighters to fully extinguish.

High Wind Speeds: Wind acts as a fan, providing oxygen to the fire and pushing flames into new fuel sources. Winds can also carry embers miles away, starting "spot fires" far from the original burn site.

Crucial Safety Rule:
Never leave an outdoor fire unattended. Even a small, manageable fire can become an uncontrollable wildfire in minutes if the wind shifts or humidity drops.
