Iron Baraga Conservation District Iron Conservation District serves the people of Iron County and nearby areas. We are here to provide

Forestry Assistance Program (FAP): Technical assistance is available regarding wildlife habitat, timber production, tree planting, recreation, and forest health. FREE on-site Visits, basic written information, and referrals to other service providers. Clean Boats Clean Waters– We operate a portable boat washing unit that visits local iron county lake boat launches offering information & a free boa

t wash to prevent the spread of aquatic invasives. Recycling- Annual recycling program of electronics, paper, scrap metal, and a variety of other items. Terrestrial Invasives– we offer identification, education, and treatment options from anything from buckthorn to wild parsnip and anything in-between. Iron Conservation District has been responsible in assisting in the elimination of invasive plants on more than 27 acres in the past year! Agriculture/Wildlife: The Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) provides site visits, written plans, and assistance with applicable cost-share and management programs. Conservation plans can include information and recommendations on field plantings, stream bank erosion, wildlife habitat improvement, manure management systems, rotational grazing, and nutrient management.
