Today, on Peace Officers Memorial Day, we take time to remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. To our brothers and sisters at the Algonquin Police Department, Cary Police Department, Crystal Lake Police Department, Crystal Lake Park District Police Department, Huntley Police Department, Lake in the Hills Police Department, Lakewood Police Department, McHenry County College Police Department, Oakwood Hills Police Department and our surrounding law enforcement partners - We SEE the sacrifices you make, the long shifts you endure, and the courage it takes to keep going when the line gets thin.

It is an honor to work side by side with you as partners in public safety. To those who gave everything: We will never forget. To those still serving: We have your back.

Over the past few years, our Public Education program has grown substantially. A key milestone was the acquisition of a 9-1-1 cell phone simulator last year. Our Public Education Committee teamed up with the Algonquin Police Department and Huntley Fire Protection District to provide critical 9-1-1 training to 5th graders at Conley Elementary School. The program's educational impact has been further bolstered by the introduction of external speakers, expanding our reach in classroom and group environments.
