Honored to spend the day on the water with two incredible leaders—retired Navy Captain Kathy and retired Army Sergeant Major Sandra—who together represent 66 years of dedicated service to our country. 🇺🇸

Our adventure kicked off in the no-wake zone of Crystal River with a bald eagle soaring low right over the boat—an unforgettable start. As we headed out, we were greeted by a playful pod of dolphins pushing through a strong incoming tide.

The Gulf gave us a little challenge with some chop, but we pushed on to Long Point before making a move to the spoil islands, where the ladies hooked into redfish and black drum. As the wind shifted and seas picked up, we tucked back into the river, where calm waters and a turning tide set the stage for more action—only to have a large mystery fish get the best of us.

From wildlife encounters to fresh-caught dinner, it was a beautiful day on Florida’s Nature Coast. Thank you both for your service—it was truly a pleasure having you aboard and a special thanks to Lynn from TCWV.org for offering to First Mate our trip. 🎣

Trip Highlight | March 18, 2026
Hosted by Manatee Tours and More 352-442-9667 with Capt. Anna, this 2-hour eco tour aboard a 26’ Sun Tracker explored the scenic Homosassa River on a breezy, 60-degree day.

From the moment the group departed MacRae’s, the water came alive—dolphins feeding and circling nearby, manatees gliding past the boat, along with sightings of sea turtles and red-tailed hawks throughout the journey. It was a truly unforgettable experience surrounded by the Nature Coast’s natural beauty.

The day wrapped up with lunch at MacRae’s on the River, filled with smiles, connection, and appreciation for time well spent on the water.

Thank you to these incredible women for joining us—we can’t wait to welcome you back soon!

Another incredible Swim with the Manatees trip in the books! 🐋💙

Sheroes Warriors on Water, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, recently hosted another successful Swim with the Manatees trip for female veterans with Salty Siren Tours and Charters. During this special experience, retired service members had the opportunity to encounter these majestic animals up close in the beautiful springs of Crystal River, Florida.

Thanks to the generosity of donors and supporters, Sheroes Warriors on Water continues to provide these on-the-water experiences free of charge to women veterans. These outings create meaningful opportunities for participants to connect with nature, build camaraderie, and support one another through shared adventures along Florida’s Nature Coast.

These no-cost trips are funded through sponsorships, fundraising efforts, and tax-deductible donations. Community members and businesses are invited to support upcoming trips by donating at SheroesWoW.org or calling 727-744-5173. Business sponsors will receive recognition through social media and media partnerships.
