๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿš‘ Celebrating 4 Years of Service โ€“ Paramedic Austin Featherstone ๐Ÿš‘๐ŸŽ‰

Please join us in congratulating Paramedic Austin Featherstone on 4 years of dedicated service with Citrus County Fire Rescue!

Austin began his journey with CCFR on May 31, 2022, and has quickly made a positive impact through his commitment to patient care and professionalism in the field.

In August 2024, he became a Field Training Officer (FTO), taking on the important role of mentoring and guiding new personnel as they begin their careers in EMS.

Throughout his time with CCFR, Austin has served the community on Rescue 20 (Pine Ridge), Rescue 24 (Floral City), Rescue 5 (Hernando), Rescue 18 (Sugarmill Woods), and Rescue 3 (Homosassa). He currently serves on Rescue 8 (Highlands) on B Shift.

His dedication to both patient care and the development of future providers reflect the high standards of our department.

๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿš’ Celebrating 4 Years of Service โ€“ Captain/Paramedic Ryan Olding ๐Ÿš‘๐ŸŽ‰

Please join us in congratulating Captain/Paramedic Ryan Olding on 4 years of dedicated service with Citrus County Fire Rescue!

Ryan began his journey with CCFR on May 30, 2022, as one of our Captains of Training, a role he continues to serve in today at the Fire Training Center.

In this critical position, Ryan is responsible for planning, developing, and delivering training for our personnel, ensuring our firefighters and paramedics are prepared to meet the demands of the job. He plays a key role in instructing fire academy students, mentoring new hires, and continuously enhancing the skills of our crews across the department.

In addition to his training responsibilities, Captain Olding also responds to emergency incidents, serving in operational roles when needed and supporting the overall mission of the department.

Outside of CCFR, Ryan proudly serves our country as an active-duty member of the United States Army, holding the rank of Staff Sergeant with 8 years of service and counting. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

His commitment to training, leadership, and serviceโ€”both locally and nationallyโ€”makes a lasting impact on our department and the community we serve.

๐Ÿ‘ Please join us in congratulating Captain/Paramedic Olding on this milestone!

๐Ÿ”ฅ Tuesday, May 26, 2026 - Burn Ban Rescinded for Unincorporated Citrus County ๐Ÿ”ฅ

The Citrus County Board of County Commissioners voted to rescind the burn ban following improved weather conditions and based on the recommendation of Fire Chief Craig Stevens.

โš ๏ธ Residents are still urged to use caution and common sense with any outdoor burning.

โœ” Burning yard debris must still follow Florida Forest Service requirements
โœ” Fires must be attended at all times
โœ” Wind and dry conditions still matter
๐Ÿšซ Burning trash is ALWAYS illegal

๐Ÿ“ Required setbacks for yard debris burning:
โ€ข 25 feet from forests
โ€ข 50 feet from paved public roads
โ€ข 25 feet from your house
โ€ข 150 feet from other occupied buildings

๐Ÿ”ฅ Recreational fires should be safely contained and monitored at all times.

๐Ÿ’ง IMPORTANT: The burn ban lifting does NOT mean water shortage restrictions have ended. Water restrictions remain in effect.
