Senior Fishing Day turned into Bingo Day!

While we were disappointed about the weather yesterday, one thing about our folks, they know how to make the best of any situation!

Instead of fishing, we enjoyed a wonderful day filled with fellowship, a little dancing, lots of laughs, and plenty of bingo. We even had several special guest bingo callers throughout the day that helped make it extra fun!

We appreciate everyone who came out to help, volunteer, and participate. A very special thank you to Elizabeth with Enhabit Home Health & Hospice for arriving early to help set up and staying all day to serve our seniors with such a kind heart.

We are also so grateful for our partnership with The City of Hanceville Parks and Recreation and City of Hanceville Alabama. We’re hopeful the weather cooperates next year so we can get back to fishing, but we are thankful you provided the perfect venue for our backup plan!

Thank you again to Peoples Bank of Alabama for sponsoring our bingo prizes and to Circuit Clerk Lisa McSwain for sponsoring lunch. We are so happy y’all were able to spend the day with us. Your support means so much to our senior community!

We want to say a very special thank you to Town of Colony Mayor Jasmine Cole and the council, Jerrold Flanigan, Michael Johnson, Lawanda Johnson, Mallonee Hall and Mary Parker for their support and recent purchase of a big screen tv and internet service for the center!

We are truly thankful for the last 12 years that Sheriff Gentry and his staff have consistently visited all our senior centers and maintained strong relationships with our community.
