WCU SSWA - Student Social Work Association This page is Western Carolina University's Social work club. Our official name is student social work association. We plan to be helpful in our community.

Western Carolina University social work students have voted to have one social work group consisting of Student Social Work Association (SSWA) members and Phi Alpha Honors Society members. Anyone is eligible to join SSWA and there are no financial dues and there are charter requirements for Phi Alpha and national dues. The purpose of SSWA is to provide opportunities for students, faculty and commu

nity members opportunities to enrich the lives of the WCU and greater community. SSWA is rooted in the belief that by helping others we help ourselves to become greater students, citizens and social workers. The purpose of Phi Alpha Honor Society is to provide a closer bond among students of social work and promote humanitarian goals and ideals. Phi Alpha fosters high standards of education for social workers and invites into membership those who have attained excellence in scholarship and achievement in social work.
