Three events full of food and community partners!

Yesterday was long, hot, and full of BBQ, Burgers, Crabs and tons of Cpep people!

Car show at Belmont Farm Distillery was packed with folks from all over, great food, and you could sip on a little something in the distillery with Cheryl and the crew. This place is near and dear to me, the Millers are my neighbors!

Burgers and Badges at 309 had a good turnout, both CCSO and CPD were there to raise money for SAFE.

Young Professionals fundraiser was packed. Capt, Corbin’s seafood was on the crab cooking detail with his crew. They knocked it out of the park of course, the food was amazing. Mountain Run Winery is such a perfect spot to host this great event.

Locally we have so much going on, I try to get to as many events as humanly possible to support our amazing community. I truly believe that is why the Sheriff’s Office is supported by so many organizations, Culpeper Supports Culpeper for sure!

… I was given this challenge coin by who I believe was an Army veteran (by his hat) .. stuck his hand out to shake my hand with it in his hand and thanked me for my service as he walked away. Small things sometimes have the most meaning.

Mock interviews CCHS

One of the best things we do each year is help with the mock job interviews at each high school. Yesterday Chief Deputy McKnight , Dep. Perez and myself were assessors for the Culpeper High kids.

Each year we get to meet so many of the young future stars of our area as they head to college or the workplace in a few months.


Thankfully no one was hurt! Traffic stops and broke down vehicles are some of the fastest changing calls we answer!

A week for the ages!

I’m not sure if we need to get ready to unleash all the enforcement we can possibly do on the drug trade? Why because everyone says thats our biggest problem. We knock down case after case, but we can’t put them all out publically because they are still on going. Do we have problems, of course we do, but every county and town does just on different scales.

Do we need to find the mouse making the tin foil hats for some of the outlandish things ware seeing and reading on all the local social media? Some of the consiracy theorists might even need a tin foil sword to go along with the hat!

Do we need to get a straight up priest to perform an exorcism on some of the evil people and places that folks are calling us about? I will be the first to admit I do not agree with a lot of the shadiness I see and hear but I also don’t have all the information. Why… because it’s not my business!!

Obviously I am kinda making light of some of the weeks events here locally. People have rights we can’t fault them for using, is it pretty… nope, but it is their right! There has been probably 50 public posts about these events, i will be the first to tell you I do not agree with the signs wording but I do agree he has rights.

We don’t have to understand everyones beliefs and we damn sure don’t have to agree with them, but again it is their’s! I just hope the signs aren’t a big enough distraction to drivers that it causes an accident.

I don’t care if you identify as a toaster, as long as you don’t break the law.

Spin this however you want but this is our community … Do Better!

Remember years ago when there was no social media? Yea me either! But half of this stuff that gets blasted everyday on social media would have never gotten a second look back then.

Take the last 7 days events in Culpeper and insert them were you see fit in those three categories! The hot topics have been all over the place. (Local Governance, 1st Amendment signs, substance abuse, animal shelter, Flock)

1. Drug enforcement
2. Tin foil hat conspiracies
3. Full exorcism

Obviously I used Chat to make the meme, and contributed to a data storage that I don’t like either, as we all scroll and comment on the book of faces…..

LEAD Culpeper

Great group with this year’s leadership class through the Culpeper Chamber of Commerce.

I was a guest speaker on the panel with Carson Beard (Circuit Court Clerk), Missy White (Treasurer), Terry Yowell (Commissioner of Revenue), and Travis Owens represented Russ Rabb’s office (Commonwealth Attorney). We gave a brief synopsis of our office duties and the gallery of classmates were able to ask us questions pertaining to our offices.

Great questions and an awesome group of local leaders. The best part was the amount of young leaders in the making!
