Another Juvenile Arrest

Last week, our Criminal Investigations Division followed up on the robbery/shooting investigation on Mount Pony Road. During that follow-up, one of the victims/witnesses received threatening messages on Snapchat. (Obviously we are not going into the specifics of the case)

A juvenile has since been charged with making threats by electronic means. He is being held in Blue Ridge Juvenile Detention.

“I want to speak directly to our parents and our young people for a moment. What gets typed or sent in a moment of anger doesn't disappear when the app closes. Threats made online carry real consequences. This threat was made to a witness in this case because they told their side of the story.” …. Captain J. Deal

“Please talk with your kids about what they're sending on these apps and to whom. We would much rather have that conversation with you now than have it with a Detective later, after something happens. We have some work to do with our young folks, lately its been juveniles back to back.” …Sheriff T.W.Chilton

We officially wrapped up an incredible Youth Football and Cheer Camp this week.

We hosted a special closing awards ceremony to recognize our hard-working participants.

Rather than focusing purely on athletic performance, these medals honored campers who stood out for their outstanding sportsmanship. 🏅

Building strong community partnerships and mentoring our youth remains a core public safety pillar for our office.

Looking ahead to next week, our agency is excited to transition onto the pitch for our upcoming Soccer Camp. ⚽

If you want to get your student involved in an active local summer program, head over to our official website right now for full registration details regarding our Summer Youth Academy.

What does it take to keep our local judicial system safe and running smoothly?

Our Citizens Academy participants found out during Week 5: Courts Division, led by Captain Rick McKinley.

Our citizens went behind the scenes at the courthouse for an exclusive, educational look at daily security operations. 🏛️

Citizens toured the facility, learned about courtroom history, and discovered the unique purpose of each courtroom.

They even viewed historic courthouse documents dating back over 100 years.

Participants even stepped into the shoes of our team with exercises focused on modern court security protocols. 👮

Special thanks to our guest speakers joined the session to review courthouse operations and answer questions:
- Dale Durrer, Circuit Court Judge
- Carson Beard, Clerk of Circuit Court
- Russell Rabb, Commonwealth's Attorney
- Travis Owens, Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney
- Christian Brashear, Attorney
- Civil Process

We love giving our community a transparent look into how your deputies serve Culpeper County every single day.

Building these real, face-to-face connections helps us protect and serve our neighborhoods with true transparency.

The Culpeper County Sheriff’s Office updates the community on a successful mutual aid operation that resulted in the recovery of an endangered missing senior.

On June 2, 2026, the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office requested emergency K9 assistance to locate a 90-year-old male with dementia who had wandered from his home.

Approximately three hours after the subject disappeared, Cpl. Booth and K9 Copper responded to the scene and initiated a tracking sequence using a scent article.

Copper successfully tracked the scent through a dense wooded area for 350 yards before displaying a clear proximity alert near a local roadway. 🐕

Acting immediately on K9 Copper's physical alert, responding deputies conducted a targeted sweep and located the missing male lying in a ravine.

Thanks to the efficient teamwork of all responding law enforcement personnel, the subject was safely recovered and reunited with his family.

"The Culpeper County Sheriff's Office maintains rigorous training protocols to ensure our K9 units can deliver life-saving results during critical regional emergencies.

Thank you to all agencies who worked together to ensure this family was reunited."
- Captain Bryant Arrington
