đ A New Look for a Piece of CUTFD History! đ
Sometimes the most valuable equipment isnât the newestâitâs the equipment that has a history of serving our community. Thanks to some much-needed upgrades, one of CUTFDâs most unique pieces of equipment is ready to keep serving for years to come!
A huge special thanks to Utilities Superintendent Bob Porter for donating his time, materials, and expertise to give our golf cart a much-needed overhaul. Bob gave it a complete tune-up, rewired the electrical system, installed LED headlights, taillights and turn signals, added a windshield, and equipped it with emergency lighting and a siren. We truly appreciate Bob going above and beyond to help us make this project happen!
This golf cart has a special history with the Culver-Union Township Fire Department. It was donated to the department by the family of longtime member Bill Snyder following his passing in 2010. Bill served with CUTFD from 1974â2008, and we are proud to continue putting his generous gift to work in our community.
The golf cart is especially useful during large community events such as Culver Lakefest and fireworks, allowing our members to quickly access congested areas and places that can be difficult to reach with our larger apparatus.
And itâs not just for fire department operations. During last monthâs Culver Lakefest, the golf cart was used to assist Culver EMS with several medical emergencies, helping responders reach patients quickly through crowded areas.
From Bill Snyderâs original donation to Bob Porterâs recent upgrades, this little golf cart continues to be a great example of community members helping their fire department help the community.
Thank you, Bob, and thank you to the Snyder family for helping make this possible! â¤ď¸đ
