At 10:30 AM on Saturday, Dec. 6, as part of the town-wide ushering in of the holiday season, the Culver Historical Society will host a driving tour of several historic churches of the Culver area, concluding with a brief Christmas sing-along reception with refreshments provided by Wesley United Methodist Church.

The event will commence at Wesley church, 511 School Street in Culver. A bus will be provided to take attendees to each of the several churches included in the tour, though attendees are also welcome to drive their own vehicles to each site.

Church communities in the Culver area date to the 19th century and include a variety of denominations and styles of worship and architecture. During the event, the Very Rev. Dr. John Houghton and Jeff Kenney, both of the Society, will invite attendees to join them in the sanctuary of each church, where they will present a brief history of the congregation and architecture.

As mentioned, the tour will end back at Wesley United Methodist Church, where all are invited to stay for refreshments and a brief singing of Christmas carols.

All are welcome to this free event. Questions may be directed to [email protected].
