Yesterday, Officers Smith and Price conducted a traffic stop that resulted in the arrest of two individuals.

Following an investigation, the driver was charged with 4 outstanding warrants and Driving Under the Influence (DUI), Drug Trafficking, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, giving officer false identifying info, along with several other traffic-related offenses.

The second individual was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Resisting Arrest, and Obstructing Governmental Operations.

Traffic Stop Leads to 2 Arrested On Drug Charges

Late last night, officers Aaron Smith, Paul Bailey, and Tim Price conducted a traffic stop that led to the arrest of two individuals. Both individuals were charged with Trafficking in Methamphetamine (Over 2 Grams), Wanton Endangerment charges, Endangering the Welfare of a Minor. The driver was additionally charged with Aggravated Driving Under the Influence (DUI), along with several other traffic-related offenses.

Traffic Stop Leads to Methamphetamine and DUI Arrest‼️

Earlier today, Officers Smith and Price conducted a traffic stop that resulted in the arrest of one individual on multiple charges.

During the investigation, officers recovered several grams of suspected methamphetamine. The driver was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine and Driving Under the Influence (DUI).

Methamphetamine arrest and stolen handgun  recovered in New York section!

Last night, Cumberland Police Department officers Aaron Smith and Tim Price served two arrest warrants on an individual in the New York Section of Cumberland.

During the investigation and arrest, officers recovered several grams of suspected methamphetamine, digital scales, additional drug paraphernalia, and a stolen handgun.

The subject was taken to the Harlan County Detention Center and is currently being held on a $10,000 cash bond.

🚨 Public Notice – Controlled Burn 🚨

On Friday, April 17, 2026, there will be a controlled burn conducted near US 119 in the areas of Veterans Park and Sleepy Hollow Golf Course. This will be overseen by The Cumberland Fire Dept. along with other local departments and trained personnel.

Residents may see smoke or flames during this time. Please be advised that this is a planned and monitored operation—there is no need to report it.
