Our Story

We are a community centric registered charity. Working with members of our local community, we collect and distribute gift-filled shoe boxes, for women impacted by homelessness. Holidays and other special occasions can be difficult for them, and a gift-filled shoe box is a powerful reminder, that they have not been forgotten and that they remain a valued and respected member of our community. It’s a small, simple gesture of kindness that has an immediate, positive impact on the woman who receives it. Women living in homelessness can feel disconnected from society, invisible and alone. The Shoebox Project attempts to give these women a moment of joy during special occasions such as the Holiday Season, when we run our biggest collection campaign. Founded in 2011, The Shoebox Project delivers thousands of gifts annually to hundreds of communities across Canada, the US, and the UK. Our success comes from the hard work of our volunteers and the generosity of community individuals, groups, businesses, and corporate donors. We pride to provide a tangible and creative way to give back to someone in your very own community! We assure you, any donations collected in your region are kept locally and go towards women in need in your community.
