Jane's Place, Inc., Allegany County Child Advocacy Center Now, children are interviewed and recorded once as part of the investigation process.

Before the creation of Jane's Place Child Advocacy Center in 2010, child and adolescent victims had to tell and retell their stories of physical and/or sexual abuse several times to multiple agencies. At Jane's Place, the need for retellings (and the associated emotional trauma) is eliminated, thanks to use of state-of-the-art digital recording equipment in our interview room. In addition, we host

a medical examination room and dedicated space for both individual and small group therapy sessions, all in a safe, child-friendly environment in downtown Cumberland.

Fall & Winter are just around the corner! These seasons are VERY busy times for Jane's Place. We are being invited to more and more Trunk or Treats and try to attend all of them. They are great outreach events for us to spread the word on keeping kids safe.

We do a Santa Event at the library (we are celebrating 5 YEARS this year!!! Look for that announcement soon!) We are looking for donations of kids board games such as CandyLand, Connect 4, Sorry, etc. We ask all board games be new/sealed as they are gifted to a child from Santa. Thank you!
