Since it was instituted on 12 February 1947, the Forsyth County Post # 9143 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States and its Auxiliary, have been completing its mission, to help worthy comrades, their spouses and orphans; To perpetuate the history of our fallen and our departed comrades, To educate our future generations on the fundamentals of American Patriotism, To support our local

communities, and to continue to support and defend the Constitution of the United States from all enemies. The Post is located at 1045 Dahlonega Highway (GA-9) in the City of Cumming, Georgia and only a couple miles from picturesque Lake Sydney Lanier,

Membership eligibility for the Veterans of Foreign Wars, is very specific, you must, be a Citizen of the United States, an Honorably Discharged Veteran of the United States Armed Forces, with no civilian felony convictions, and having official documentation showing that you served in at least one of the numerous designated Combat or Hostile Fire Zones, as listed in the VFW's National By-Laws.
