The Georgia Jail Association is accepting nominations for the 2025 Awards, which will be presented at the 2026 Annual Training Conference.

Award Categories:

* 2025 Officer of the Year:
Honors a Correctional Officer/Deputy Sheriff involved in daily detention operations who demonstrates exemplary performance, service, spirit, and accomplishments.

* 2025 Detention Supervisor of the Year:
Recognizes a supervisor who demonstrates strong leadership and managerial ability while significantly improving detention operations.

* 2025 Paul J. Strickland Professional Service Award:
Honors a professional service provider (such as healthcare or food service personnel) who has enhanced detention facility operations through innovation and improved services.

* 2025 Detention Administrator of the Year:
Presented to an administrator who has promoted professional standards, implemented new programs, supported employee training, and demonstrated distinguished service over time.

* 2025 Training Officer of the Year:
Recognizes excellence and innovation in peace officer and law enforcement training.

This marks Georgia’s first new forensic mental health hospital in over 60 years.
