Here’s the state of the Cupertino City Council race, as of the evening of 10/09.

I want to thank all my friends, supporters, endorsers, and contributors for their support over the past 8 months of my campaign. I have no regrets – everything that could have been done was done and I got a lot of great outcomes along the way. I’ve knocked on a lot of doors, and behind them I’ve reunited with a lot of old friends and made a lot of new ones too.

I still remember the first time I visited Cupertino. I drove down from Stanford in the spring of my junior year to apply for a summer internship at Apple at a building on Bandley Drive. I was filled with optimism then, and I still feel the same way today. The best is still yet to come, and I’m thankful to have the opportunity to be a part of it.

The Registrar of Voters will still be counting mail-in ballots for the next week. Things may still bump up or down, but I thank you all for taking the journey with me!

My best wishes to the next Council! There will be a lot of challenges, but you'll face them with the united support of this great town.

As we wind into the final hours of the election, I thought I'd share some pictures that I've collected over the course of the campaign.

Those of you who know me from Regnart Elementary are aware that I was the school yearbook editor for a number of years, so everything is a potential picture!

Election Day is finally here! I want to express my heartfelt thanks for all the encouragement and support I've received in this campaign. Cupertino is a great place, and I've gotten to know it so much better in the past few months - and hopefully the years ahead!

If you haven't voted yet, thanks for your consideration. Hopefully, your ballot will look like this. I mean, you wouldn't want to vote for a blurry candidate now, would you?

Let the counting begin!

Still a full day before the election is over, so I'll catch up on posts!

This article from Sing Tao Daily 美西版 ran in the paper last Friday. I'll post a translation when I have one available!

On Satuday, I was featured in an interview in World Journal, the leading Chinese newspaper in the Bay Area. Here's the article, which was yesterday's top local story on the World Journal website:

If you don't read Chinese, try right-clicking in your browser for a translation. It will certainly be interesting (awesome factoid - Google Translate's conversion of "Cupertino" often appears as "Library City" which is incredibly apt).

We had a great discussion, including some history, a discussion about Measure C&D, Vallco, and the importance of better communication between stakeholders.

I'm having an English translation done and will post when available.

I'm very proud to announce that I have received the endorsement of The Honorable Evan Low, California State Assemblyman for our 28th District and Assistant Minority Whip!

I've admired Evan's accomplishments and leadership since he became the first Asian-American Councilman and Mayor in Campbell, and as the youngest Asian-American Assemblyman representing us in the state legislature. His thoughtful and effective leadership are an inspiration.

Evan, thanks for your support!

Had a candidate event this morning, and stopped to have a slice of pizza for lunch. At the next table, Eddy Cue, a Senior VP at Apple and the go-to guy for new Apple product launches like the one happening tomorrow right here at the Apple Campus in Cupertino (less than a mile away).

A little bit of old Apple meets new. I started working at Apple before I graduated from Stanford. My employee number was 2500. Today, Apple has more than 115,000 employees. So it's a little bigger now...

Many thanks to Sheila, who put together a very nice meeting with friends and neighbors on Monday. I met Sheila through another longtime friend, fellow school parent and supporter, Ramesh. We had a spirited discussion on city topics, the schools, change and evolution in Cupertino, and some of the up ticket political races as well.

I'm still new at being a candidate, so I always miss grabbing a picture until most of the people left!
