Yesterday, we kicked off Attendance Awareness Month! Regular attendance plays an important role in helping students stay connected, engaged, and successful throughout the school year.

To help families plan ahead, we’ve created a 2026–2027 Calendar Quick Reference Guide featuring scheduled early release days, teacher workdays, and holidays throughout the school year.

When possible, planning appointments, vacations, and other activities around instructional days is a great way to support consistent attendance and help students make the most of every opportunity to learn, connect, and grow.

Save this guide for easy reference throughout the year. It is also available on our website.

🏆💜 JPK SPARTAN STAFF RECOGNITION OF THE MONTH - AUGUST 2026 💜🏆
This month, one winner simply wasn’t enough!

We are proud to celebrate Mrs. Danielle Phillips and Officer Jason Dowdy, who tied for our very first JPK Spartan Staff Recognition of the Month!

⭐ Mrs. Phillips continues to strengthen JPK through her leadership, positivity, and willingness to support others. Whether she is helping a colleague, leading through SIT, supporting school initiatives, or stepping in wherever she is needed, she consistently demonstrates what it means to put the team first.

⭐ Officer Dowdy has quickly become much more than our School Resource Officer. By learning students’ names, checking in with them, sharing a laugh, and intentionally building relationships, he is establishing himself as a trusted adult and positive role model throughout our school.

Both represent exactly what we mean when we say Different By Design... people who intentionally make JPK better through the relationships they build, the leadership they demonstrate, and the way they show up for others every day.

Please help us congratulate Mrs. Phillips and Officer Dowdy on this well-deserved recognition! 👏🏆

A huge THANK YOU to our JPK Booster Club for giving our staff workroom a much-needed refresh and reorganization! 💜🖤

Your time, effort, and generosity have transformed the space into a more organized, welcoming, and functional area for our staff. These thoughtful improvements may happen behind the scenes, but they make a meaningful difference in the daily lives of the educators who serve our students.

We are incredibly grateful for a Booster Club that continues to find ways to support our Spartan staff and school community.
