If you know Ken Adamโ€™s then you know how humble he is. However, we will take this time to boast about our own team member. Ken is an outstanding Supporting member of our Dept. If you donโ€™t know what this is let us share:

The Combat Action Badge is one of the U.S. Armyโ€™s most respected combat awards because it recognizes direct participation in ground combat, regardless of a Soldierโ€™s military occupation. It isnโ€™t awarded for simply deploying to a combat zoneโ€”it is earned by Soldiers who have been personally engaged by, or have engaged, the enemy while performing their duties.

The type of Soldier who earns a Combat Action Badge is often characterized by qualities such as:

* Courage under fire โ€“ They continued performing their mission while facing direct enemy action.
* Composure in chaos โ€“ They made sound decisions despite incoming fire, explosions, or other life-threatening conditions.
* Professionalism โ€“ They carried out their assigned duties, whether as infantry, medic, mechanic, logistics specialist, intelligence analyst, military police officer, or another specialty.
* Selfless service โ€“ Many recipients prioritize protecting fellow Soldiers before themselves.
* Resilience โ€“ They endured the physical and emotional stress of combat while remaining mission-focused.
* Adaptability โ€“ Combat is unpredictable. CAB recipients often had to react quickly to changing threats.
* Team commitment โ€“ The award frequently reflects actions taken as part of a unit, relying on trust and coordination with others.

One of the unique aspects of the Combat Action Badge is that it recognizes that every Soldier can become a combatant. Unlike combat badges tied to specific career fields, the CAB acknowledges that mechanics, truck drivers, logisticians, communications specialists, engineers, and countless other Soldiers have found themselves in direct combat and responded with courage.

Ultimately, earning a Combat Action Badge says that a Soldier:

* Faced the enemy directly.
* Performed their duty under hostile conditions.
* Demonstrated the discipline and resolve expected of a professional Soldier in combat.

These qualities still stand in this man.
Stand Tall Adams, you deserve more than a round of applause ๐Ÿ‘

Over the past week, our firefighters and many partner agencies have answered the call during two significant emergencies affecting our community.

From a four-day, multi-agency search and recovery operation on Lake Erie to the historic flooding that impacted Jerusalem Township, our responders worked around the clock to protect lives, assist our residents, and keep our community informed.

We are incredibly proud of the professionalism, teamwork, and dedication displayed by every agency and volunteer who stood alongside us. We also want to thank our residents for their patience, cooperation, and support throughout these challenging events.

Our thoughts and deepest condolences remain with the families affected during this difficult time.

Please take a moment to read our official press release below as we reflect on an extraordinary week of service and recognize those who made it possible.

Thank you for your continued trust and support.
