2:05 update
At approximately 1030 this morning the city of Curtis received mutual aid from city of North Platte, as well as city of Holdridge and partnership with mutual agreements MEAN. Once the crews arrived, a short briefing been known issues took place in Curtis and crews were sent to Maywood to begin rebuilding the infrastructure.
Mccook Public Power District set up for inspections on the transformer in the Mccook substation that feeds, which results were good, switching has begun to re-energize the maywood substation.
Once the substation is energized, we will begin to move Maywood and Curtis circuits back to the system, restoring power. As we make the transition back to conventional power, some customers may see a blink or a short interruption of power, we will make a final post indicating systems are all back to normal once switching operations are complete.
We have worked diligently to repair the storms damage as quickly as possible, and the city of Curtis could not have done it without the help of our mutual aid partners. We appreciate your patience and understanding as this event pushed the limits of our crew, and it’s been a privilege to have worked with the crews from North Platte, Holdridge, McCook, NPPD, and MEAN.
**August 15th Outage Update**
McCook Public Power feed to us is down, crew from Kearney is en route to do testing on the transformer at the Substation, they're ETA is 10am. Once testing is complete, we will know next steps.
Village of Maywood is completely without power at this time, as I wait for mutual aid help to arrive and begin helping us repair our damages. Maywood residents are urged to conserve water.
Within the city of Curtis, town has power, but we are limited to 1 Megawatt at this time, so we need to encourage people to conserve as much power as possible. If we reach the limits of Generation, I will have to implement rolling outages of different circuits in town, to prevent overload.
Those that are fed on the distribution line into Curtis are without power and will remain so until we can clear all faults on our lines.
I am requesting residents to conserve water usage at this time as well, due to only having one operational well at this time due to the storm damage.
I am unable to get away from the generation plant to address the well issue, and other problems within town
I have been in contact with our mutual aid group and have crews from outside the area working their way here to assist with repairs of the electrical system, to restore power as efficiently as we can.
Please utilize the sheriffs office to report damages and outages.
