It's Frontier County Fair Week!

Today, Tuesday, July 29th the Extension Office will be closed at 11:30 AM as we head down for Static Exhibit check-in.

Wednesday, July 30th the Extension Office will be closed until the conclusion of the Horse Show.

Thursday is weigh-in day, and all Office staff will be at the Stockville Fairgrounds during that time.

If you need to get in contact with any of us, please reach out to our emails: [email protected] or [email protected].

Finally, our wonderful Swine Barn and Cattle Barn Superintendents have stall assignments completed. Due to the number of animals we have, we are not able to accommodate space for assigned tack stalls. We ask that if there is extra space to be courteous of fellow exhibitors and families and work together on sharing that space :)

As an extra note: On the Cattle Barn assignments, the assignments for the club listed as "Farnam Frontiers" are the stalls designated for the Farnam Clovers cattle exhibitors.

We are SO excited to see you all this week, it's going to be a good one!

YQCA REMINDER

If you are showing livestock at fair (anything that goes back into the food chain i.e. Rabbits, cattle, poultry, including eggs, sheep, and goats) you must provide the office with a copy of your current year certificate. This is a class you must take every year. You will not be able to show your animal if we do not have your certificate.

Hello, sewing and modeling families!!

Below is the schedule for the Clothing Judging and the Fashion Show Competition. Remember to wear your 4-H T-shirt when judging. New shirts were kindly donated by Farm Bureau Financial Services in Curtis, and those can be picked up at the office. You will also need to attach any supporting information that accompanies your project, which you will find attached to this email. This will be our very first time running a 4-H judging competition so bear with us if there are a few bumps in the road!!

We are not 100% on how you did things in the past, so for this year what we have planned is as follows: we will begin the Fashion Show Judging at 9:00 am. We will hopefully be done by 10:00 am. Then we will move directly into Construction Judging at 10:00 am. Please come earlier if you are only participating in Construction Judging as we will begin as soon as the Fashion Show is over.

Place of Contests: Curtis Community Center

Fashion Show Judging – Begins at 9:00 am

Construction Judging – Begins at 10:00 am

If you have changed your mind and have decided that you want to try modeling, we encourage you to show up and try it this year even if you didn’t sign up for it!! We would love to see all of you who have made something -even if it is a pillow, pillowcase, or a bag— go across the stage and try your best at modeling! If you are nervous about modeling for the first time, we will have an expert model on hand to give you a few pointers before you go on stage! You will also need to complete the Fashion Show Narration and turn it in before you model. If it is your first time modeling and you would like to have help with this narration, please come in right at 9:00 am and we can help get you started on it! An example of a Fashion Show Narration is attached.

We are so excited to see all your projects and what you have been working on this past year! Please come at the beginning of your time frame so if we are running ahead of schedule we can keep moving along!!

If you have questions, please call the office at (308) 367-4424.

Thank you and we are excited to see you on Monday!
