Reminder! Teddy Bear hospital will be making its return this summer!

Come see Dr. Bonnie and the crew June 9th, at Grampian Days at the Grampian Park.

Teddy Bear hospital is a great way to make a connection with children, and introduce them to medical professionals and equipment to help ease anxiety if they were ever in an emergency situation.

Just like last year, Dr. Bonnie will have her "medicine bag" there will her to make any repairs on stuffed animals that you have at home that may need some TLC. She does a wonderful job fixing holes, re-stuffing, and just bringing them back to life.

We will also have materials there to let your little ones make a new friend too. Have them come stuff an animal of their choosing, and let us bring it to life in the Teddy Bear Hospital. Its always warms our heart seeing their eyes light up when they see their new friend's "heartbeat".

Come see us!

RH&L EMS would like to congratulate one of our newer members on his graduation from Punxsutawney Area School District last night.

Ty recently obtained his National Registry Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT) certification, and started his EMS journey via employment with us in May. Working weekends and after school hours.

You will also notice the blue and gold cord, and EMT pins he earned for completing our class. Ty also graduated with high honors and was a member of the National Honor Society.

Ty’s future plans include attending Allegheny College in the Fall for Pre Med.

Congratulations and good luck in your future endeavors!

This morning EMS Supervisor Megan Witherite completed the Certified Ambulance Public Relations Officer, CAPRO class. This was the very first class of its kind from the NAAC group.

We are looking forward to the knowledge she will bring back with her, and for her to implement the new skills learned to become even more connected with our community.

Last night Rescue Hose & Ladder EMS had one of our own complete their High School journey! Congratulations to Heath Hawkins, Graduate of the 2026 class of Curwensville Area School District.

Heath completed our EMT program during his Junior year. Throughout his Senior year, he was apart of a work release program, where he would attend classes the first half of the day, then come and work EMS for the second half of the day. He was then still able to participate in all the normal after school activities of a High School student. Heath also did all of this while still retaining high academic status and graduating with Honors.

Heath will be attending Mount Aloysius, Dubois Campus, and enrolling in the 2+2 program to obtain his Bachelor’s of Nursing. His future plans include working to become a Nurse Anesthetist.

RH&L EMS started a new tradition this year. We purchased cords in the company’s colors and a pin that the graduate will wear during the graduation ceremony.

We feel that this is a huge accomplishment for any student of this age, and shows a strong dedication to the community. This should be recognized in the same way as the vocational programs.

Thank you to the Curwensville School for working with us, and for allowing us to implement this into the ceremony!

Heath is our second High School student to work for us in this style. Trenton Guiher, graduate of the 2024 class was our pilot student to work for us in this way. Bobby Straw, graduate of 2016, worked with the company as well while attending High School, working after school hours

From the hands that have healed to the hearts that have broken, EMS providers give so much of themselves every single day.

Countless hours are poured into serving the community. Fueled by dedication, sacrifice, and more caffeine than we can count.

This week, we want to thank YOU.🫵

To all EMS providers... thank you for every call answered, every life touched, and every moment spent putting others before yourselves. Your compassion, strength, and commitment do not go unnoticed.

We should recognize and appreciate each other all year long, not just during EMS Week. But for now, enjoy the goodies, celebrate yourselves, and take pride in all of your accomplishments and victories, big and small. You’ve earned it.

Thank you for everything you do.

RH&L EMS was invited for a stand by assignment by The Bilger's Rocks Association for their signing ceremony. We provided first aid services and had a table full of safety information and company information. EMS crews were available to answer questions or give tours of the trucks and equipment to anyone interested. We even offered a "sneak peak" at our new EMS command vehicle which will be in service in the near future.

Today the BIlger's Rocks Association signed over their 173 acre property to The Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. This decision was made by the association to make sure the land is preserved for future generations, and continue to promote conversation efforts and heritage of the land.

During the ceremony several speakers shared important information on the formation of the rocks, the history of the association and the property, and their appreciation for the Bilger's Rock Association's hard work and conservation efforts throughout the years.

Thank you for inviting us to join you on this special day, and we hope to see this beautiful property to continue to bring joy to all who visits it 🌲🌎⛰️
