Today, Major Mark Beitz, Captain James Blevins, and Firefighter Deklyn Wilhelm had the pleasure of teaching CPR to the seniors at Cushing High School.

We appreciate the opportunity to proactively prepare our students to respond in an emergency and provide them with potentially lifesaving skills. The American Heart Association states that immediate CPR from bystanders can double or triple the chance of survival from cardiac arrest.

We are proud of our partnership with Cushing Public Schools and grateful for the opportunity to invest in our community by teaching these important lifesaving skills.

We’re a little late getting this posted, but we wanted to share the response to an incident Monday morning at the Explorer storage facility in Glenpool.
Cushing Fire Department responded with eight firefighters, along with equipment and support from the Safety Alliance of Cushing (SAC). Upon arrival, crews established a water supply and began foam suppression operations. Through the coordinated efforts of everyone on scene, the situation was brought under control shortly after 7:30 p.m.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the Safety Alliance of Cushing, as well as our partners at Enbridge and NGL, for their support and assistance.
This type of fire is thankfully not something we encounter often, but we are extremely proud of the professionalism, teamwork, and dedication demonstrated by everyone involved. Most importantly, we are grateful for the positive outcome and the safe, effective response of all agencies and personnel on scene.
Thank you to everyone who worked together to help bring this incident under control.

Cushing Fire Department is on another task force deployment requested by Oklahoma Emergency Management, along with other departments around the county. Crews arrived in Woodward around 8:00am this morning and are expected to begin the return trip home this evening.

The Payne County Wildland Task Force has been requested to assist with the Burnt Canyon Fire in Woodward County. Fire crews were up early this morning and are currently making the trip to Woodward to assist with firefighting operations.

Cushing Fire Department has deployed a brush truck and command unit to Oklahoma County as part of a task force assisting with ongoing firefighting efforts.
Joining us on the task force are firefighters from Glencoe, Ripley, Yale, Stillwater, Rock Township, and Pawnee, along with Payne County Emergency Management.
We’re proud to stand alongside our neighboring departments and emergency management partners as we work together to protect communities and support those affected by these fires.

This afternoon, Cushing Fire Department B-Shift, along with several callback personnel from the other two shifts, responded to a report of a rural grass fire.
Upon arrival of the first unit, crews discovered that a structure was also involved. Additional resources were called in from the station, and thanks to the quick response and teamwork of everyone on scene, the fire was mitigated quickly.

This is the second structure fire B-shift has ran within a week. Great job by everyone who responded and worked together to get the job done—especially in this heat! Your dedication and hard work are greatly appreciated. Stay safe out there! 🚒🔥

Partnerships are everything in rural EMS.
Recently, the Cushing Fire Department experienced mechanical issues with our ambulance fleet. During that time, Creek County Ambulance Service stepped up without hesitation, providing one of their ambulances for us to operate out of our station as our own. Their support ensured we could continue answering calls and providing emergency medical services to our community without interruption.

This is a true example of neighbors helping neighbors and agencies working together for the people we serve.

I am proud to call the members of Creek County Ambulance Service our neighboring partners and friends. Thank you for your willingness to help when we needed it most. Your support is greatly appreciated.
