Today’s the day! If you're interested in learning more about the proposed regional multi-use trail for Americus, Ellaville, Buena Vista, and Cusseta, we encourage you to attend this public meeting.

πŸ“… Tuesday, August 11
πŸ•” 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM
πŸ“ Schley County Community Center β€” 46 North Pecan Street, Ellaville, GA 31806

This is a great opportunity to learn about the project, ask questions, and share your ideas. While the trail is still in the feasibility study phase and no construction is planned at this time, community input is an important part of the process!

Please join a Public Meeting on Tuesday, August 11, 5-7 pm (come-and-go) at the Schley County Community Center (46 North Pecan St, Ellaville GA 31806) to learn more about the many benefits of multi-use trails and to share your ideas about how a proposed regional trail could engage the communities of Americus, Ellaville, Buena Vista, and Cusseta. Refreshments will be provided.

For many years, these communities have identified increased access to multiuse trails as a goal in comprehensive planning. Multiuse trails stimulate economic development, increase quality of life for residents, and attract tourism and talent. To help pursue these benefits, a Regional Rail Trail Feasibility Study has begun to verify the feasibility of an approximately 40-mile multi-jurisdictional trail connecting Americus to Fort Benning (and eventually Columbus) through these communities.

While this would be a years-long project, dependent on many external factors, and with no construction starting soon, the Feasibility Study is a first step toward evaluating the possibilities. A team of city and county leaders from the four counties is working with the PATH Foundation and KAIZEN Collaborative to identify potential routing and connections, a recommended starter project for each community, and estimated project costs. Join us Tuesday, August 11, to learn more.

Let’s work together to help our communities dream, implement, and thrive!
