This past Sunday our members spent the morning ensuring Tomorrow River Trail Half-Marathon runners were safe while crossing each intersection. Our members came out in full force (17 members to be exact!). We staffed 7 vehicles plus our UTV to accomplish one goal = keeping members of our community safe. Great job by all the runners!

As we sit in reflection this morning, we are deeply thankful for the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice so that we may enjoy the freedoms we have today. This Memorial Day, we honor and remember those who gave everything in service to our country. Their courage and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Whether in Morrill, Maine or Custer, Wisconsin, one line-of-duty death is one too many. The fire service brotherhood and sisterhood stands strong during times like these, and our hearts are heavy as we mourn this tragic loss. Rest easy, brother.

After 20 memorable years of service, Lieutenant Erik Peterson has officially retired. We had the honor of giving him a sendoff worthy of his dedication, a parade of apparatus with lights flashing and sirens sounding as we presented his retirement gift.

Thank you, Erik, for your leadership, commitment, and the countless memories made along the way. Your impact on this department and this community will not be forgotten.
