🚔 Now Hiring: Full-Time Deputy Sheriff 🚔

The Custer County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for a Full-Time Deputy Sheriff position. Join a professional team dedicated to serving and protecting the residents and visitors of beautiful Custer County.

💲 Starting Pay:
• $26.32/hour (uncertified)
• $27.59/hour (current South Dakota certified officers)
• + $1.00/hour shift differential for hours worked between 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM

Custer County is home to incredible landmarks including Custer State Park, Wind Cave National Park, Jewel Cave National Monument, and Crazy Horse Memorial. The Sheriff’s Office also provides contract patrols for the United States Forest Service.

Requirements include:
✔ Must be at least 21 years old
✔ High school diploma or GED
✔ Valid driver’s license with insurable driving history
✔ No felony or domestic violence convictions
✔ Pass comprehensive background investigation
✔ Obtain South Dakota Law Enforcement Certification within one year of hire
✔ Availability to work all shifts, weekends, and holidays

Custer County 9-1-1 Communications Center is accepting applications for a Full-Time Emergency Dispatcher position. Join a dedicated team serving law enforcement, fire, EMS, and emergency response agencies throughout Custer County.

Starting Pay:
• $22.84/hour (non-certified)
• $23.79/hour (state certified)
• + $1.00/hour shift differential for overnight shifts

Applicants must be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Excellent benefits package included, along with participation in the South Dakota Retirement System.

Requirements include:
✔ High school diploma or GED
✔ Must be 18+ and a U.S. citizen
✔ Ability to work calmly in high-stress situations
✔ Pass background check
✔ Obtain required state certification within one year
