We couldn’t be more excited for the incredible group of young musicians who will take part in this year’s Kids Rock Custer program! Open to students who have just completed grades 4 through 7, this weeklong experience gives participants the chance to learn an instrument—bass, guitar, keyboards, or percussion—form a band, collaborate with peers, and even write an original song.

Participants will perform LIVE at The Custer Beacon on Saturday, June 20th - 4:30pm. We invite the entire community to come out, cheer on these talented kids, and celebrate what they’ve accomplished—it’s always an inspiring and unforgettable performance.

The Custer Area Arts Council is proud to partner with the Custer County Library to bring the Salida Circus to our community as part of this year's Summer Reading Kickoff! 🤹

Join us on Thursday, June 4 at 6:00 p.m. at the Custer School Armory for an evening of imagination, laughter, and family fun. This free community event for all ages features giant bubbles, juggling, tight-wire acts, audience participation, and plenty of circus magic.

We love supporting opportunities that inspire creativity, spark curiosity, and bring people together. Gather the family and help us kick off a summer filled with reading, learning, and imagination. 👉 Admission is free. We hope to see you there!

We’ve teamed up with local businesses, events, and organizations all over Custer County to connect your family directly to awesome local resources, activities, and hidden gems.

1️⃣ Grab your Challenge Sheet: Download it digitally, or pick up a printed copy at the Custer Chamber of Commerce or the Custer County Library.

2️⃣ Explore Custer: Visit participating spots, complete quick activities, and collect stickers or stamps on your sheet.

3️⃣ Win Custer Cash! Complete at least 10 activities by August 15th and turn your sheet in at the Chamber or Library to earn rewards to spend right here in town!
