Thank you, Tom and Carol, for the wonderful private tour of for the Library! We truly enjoyed learning about your multi-faceted, sustainable family farm and hearing firsthand about both the challenges and rewards of working the land. Meeting the Icelandic sheep, heritage chickens, and Tamworth pigs was a highlight, and it was inspiring to see the care and dedication that goes into raising animals and growing food sustainably. We also loved seeing the variety of products available at the farmstand, from fresh vegetables, fruits, eggs, and grass-fed meats to the beautiful handmade yarn and fiber products. We truly appreciate you sharing your farm, your story, and your commitment to sustainable agriculture with us.

Thank you, Mitchell Berg, for a wonderful and engaging author’s talk! Your discussion of “Flying on the Wings of Mercury” brought even greater depth to an already captivating novel. Blending magical realism, historical fiction, mystery, and a touch of romance, this difficult to put down story is both imaginative and deeply moving. Set in part on the beautiful North Fork, the novel beautifully explores history, memory, and the mysterious ways stories find us.

In celebration of the 250th birthday of the United States the Library joined the Cutchogue-New Suffolk Historical Council & Museums in creating a Story Walk based on the historic buildings at the Village Green.
11 Story Walk signs provide self-guided tours for young visitors to discover local history through images and descriptions of contents and special features of the buildings on the Village Green and the surrounding area. For the inaugural tour, Historical Council Director, Mark Macnish and his associate Aurelie Lang took guests on the tour and afterwards joined guests at the Library for a Tea. Children who had never met made new friendships.

Take this self-guided tour any time and at your convenience.
