Enjoy a family scavenger hunt while learning about local history on the Cutchogue-New Suffolk Historical Council Village Green! Stop by the Children’s Desk to pick up a scavenger hunt and map, then head over to the Village Green to begin your adventure. When you’re finished, return your completed scavenger hunt to the Library to receive a special prize! 🎉

This is a self-guided, ongoing activity, so families can participate at their own pace and whenever it works for them. We hope you’ll join in the fun!

Steve Wick joins us on For Your Information to tell the stories of the men and women who lived on one of the last farm labor camps of the North Fork, on Depot Lane in Cutchogue. Their stories are chronicled in his book, All That Remains, published by the Cutchogue New Suffolk Free Library.

A special thank you to actor and educator Heléna Eilenberg for bringing Mary Todd Lincoln to life in such a fascinating and unforgettable presentation of Ask Mrs. Lincoln. Through her remarkable portrayal, we were given a revealing new perspective on one of America’s most misunderstood First Ladies. We learned about Mary Todd Lincoln’s marriage to Abraham Lincoln, their family and children, her life in Washington during the Civil War, and the experiences that shaped the public image that has followed her through history.
