They tell young people, “Wait your turn.”

I say—why?

Why should leadership be reserved for the well-connected, the powerful, or the people who have occupied the same seats for decades?

Omari Williams represents something different.

He is a son of Homestead. A young man raised by this community who has decided that instead of complaining about what needs to change, he’s going to help change it.

And today, Omari, I want you to understand: this isn’t a reward. This is a responsibility.

Never become impressed by the title.
Never become intimidated by the establishment.
And never become so comfortable at the table that you forget the people who don’t have a seat.

Question everything. Challenge what isn’t working. And when they tell you, “That’s how we’ve always done it,” remind them:

That’s exactly why we’re here to change it.

Your generation doesn’t have to wait for permission to lead.

Your time is now.

Ever wonder where ALL that tax money you pay actually goes?
S
You work hard for your money. You pay your taxes. And you deserve a government that remembers it's YOUR money - not theirs.
Last night, we talked about the County budget, where the money is going, and whether the priorities at County Hall match the priorities of everyday people.
Because while government talks in millions and billions, families are talking about rent, groceries, insurance, traffic, safe neighborhoods, better parks, and opportunities for their children.
That's who I'm fighting for.
I'll keep asking the tough questions, challenging the status quo, and fighting to make sure YOUR tax dollars come back to YOUR communities.
Your money. Your community. Your voice.
And I'm going to keep fighting for all three.

I was proud to stand with Nelson and Victor in support of our farmers, agritourism, and the future of South Dade. Their perseverance is a reminder of what we can accomplish when we stand together for our community.
