Recently, members of our DTPW team joined transportation professionals and community leaders for the 2026–2028 The Conference of Minority Transportation Officials- Miami Chapter Miami Board Installation and Swearing-In Ceremony at the Stephen P. Clark Government Center.

We’re proud to see members of our team take on leadership roles that extend beyond their work at DTPW and contribute to the broader transportation community. Their involvement reflects a continued commitment to professional growth, collaboration and strengthening the industry that keeps our region moving.

Congratulations to the newly installed COMTO Miami officers and board members as they begin their 2026–2028 term. We look forward to the leadership and contributions they’ll bring to transportation across .

It was an honor to receive the Maple Leaf Award from Consul General of Canada Sylvia Cesaratto, recognizing the strong and steadfast relationship between Canada and Miami-Dade County, as well as a commemorative coin marking America’s 250th anniversary. We said farewell to Deputy Michael Roan as he heads into retirement after 38 years of service in corrections and law enforcement. Deputy Roan has served as Sergeant-At-Arms since 2003, the longest-serving in this role, and I was honored to select him as my own Sergeant-At-Arms in 2019. It has been an honor to work with him. Mike, thank you for everything you have done for this team and for our County. Your wisdom and experience will be greatly missed. We wish you nothing but the best in this next chapter. 💙

This week, I brought together community stakeholders to talk about one of Miami-Dade’s most exciting projects — The Ludlam Trail. 🌿

This 5.6-mile shared-use path will connect neighborhoods, schools, parks, and transit stops across Miami-Dade, creating a safer, greener, and more connected community for all of us.

We are building the future of aviation at Miami International Airport . This week, AAR CORP. expanded its Miami footprint with a brand-new 100,000+ sq. ft. facility creating 200 local jobs. MIA is now the 8th busiest airport in the U.S. for daily flights, with cargo volumes up 11% from last year. Thanks to investments like this, MIA now generates $212 billion in business revenue and supports 950,000 jobs across South Florida. ✈️🛠️
