Today from 3 - 6 p.m. in our Large Study Room, meet members from the Cuyahoga Falls, David Hudson, Joshua Stow, and Jacob Gaskins Chapters of the DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) responsible for bringing the American Revolution Experience! Light refreshments will be provided.
The American Revolution Experience is a free pop-up exhibition on display at the library. From Oct. 4 – 17, find it on the library's upper level, near the study rooms. The exhibit is available for viewing during the library’s open hours.
THIS WEEK ONLY, the library’s MakerSpace will host Art in the MakerSpace: Revolutionary Crafts from Mon., Oct. 5 – Fri., Oct. 9. Visitors are encouraged to stop in the MakerSpace to create themed crafts inspired by Revolutionary-period art and life. Projects are self-directed and available while supplies last.
The American Revolution Experience invites visitors to consider the choice faced by members of the revolutionary generation as tensions mounted in the 1770s: Would these ordinary citizens risk their lives and livelihoods in pursuit of liberty? Or would they remain loyal subjects of the British crown, coming into conflict with neighbors and family? The exhibit surfaces diverse viewpoints and experiences, touching on the journeys — both literal and figurative — of Patriots and Loyalists, men and women, Black and Native populations and even international allies.
