This morning's storm brought significant wind, downed trees, and power outages throughout town and across Harrison County. Crews from KU are actively working to restore power and remove trees from power lines. Our City Public Works team has been out since the storm, clearing streets and debris, and will continue those efforts throughout the day. At this time, Newsome Ave., Waterworks Rd., the 100 block of Old Lair and the 300 block of E. Pleasant Street are closed due to downed trees.

Times like these remind us of the strength of our community. If you are able, please check on your neighbors, especially seniors and those who may need assistance. If you provide tree removal services, please comment below with your contact information to help connect residents who may need cleanup assistance.

Thank you to our first responders, Public Works employees, and the utility crews who have been working through the aftermath of the storm.

There is a long list of people to thank for this announcement. I won’t try to name everyone for fear of leaving someone out, but I am incredibly grateful to all those who have advocated for our community in Frankfort, especially the people at the Kentucky Infrastructure Authority (Debbie Landrum),the Division of Water, and the Environmental Cabinet. Your support, guidance, and advocacy have been invaluable throughout this process.

Most especially, I want to thank our local team at Cynthiana Water Works, led by Todd Blanton. A tremendous amount of work has taken place behind the scenes to secure this funding for our community. We are fortunate to have employees who genuinely care about the people they serve.

The Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) filtration facility is currently out for construction bidding, another major step forward in this project.

Congratulations on 45 years!

Today marks a special day for us.

45 years ago today, we were just a three‑person team with a big dream. We’ve now grown to become the gold standard in custom equine stalls and equipment. We are incredibly proud of what we've built, the relationships we've earned, and the horses we've helped keep safe and comfortable across the globe. 💛
