Happy 70th Birthday Cypress!

Today our great city celebrates its 70th birthday. We’ve come a long way from incorporation as Dairy City back in 1956. Today, Cypress is a gem of Orange County with safe streets, great schools, and the kind of community that honors tradition while welcoming new members and families every day.

On top of that, what I think really makes Cypress special is that we are a city full of people who are dedicated to making a positive impact. In Cypress, we look out for our neighbors. We volunteer to help those in need. And regardless of our backgrounds or political leanings, we are united by a love of our city.

So happy birthday Cypress! Let’s keep working together to make sure that Cypress remains a wonderful community for another 70 years!

The Burke crew had a great time at Salute to America last week. Fun games for the kids, music from Elvis to Taylor Swift, and the fireworks show was legit!

I am excited to welcome four graduates of Police Academy Class 176 to our Cypress Police Department!

The graduation ceremony featured a keynote address by our very own Cypress Police Chief Mark Lauderback, who gave a great speech. Cypress’s Captain Scott Asumus was the Lead Executive Training Officer for the academy so our city was very well represented.
