Friends of Cypress Library Friends of Cypress Library supports the Cypress Library and their children's, teen, and adult program Become a member today!

The Friends of Cypress Library uses proceeds raised to provide funding for children’s, teen, and adult programs, and to purchase additional books and supplies for the Cypress Library. Our generous members (Friends) volunteer their time to assist programming, sort donations, and run the annual Fall Book Sale. Our main fundraising programs are the Book Nook and donations. Friends of Cypress Library is hosting our first book sale of this year on SUNDAY, January 25, 2026, from 9:00am to 2:00pm in the Library's Program Room. Unless specifically marked, all books will be 2 for $1.

If you have any extra gently used books (that are under 10 years old) that you no longer need. The Friends of Cypress Library takes donations of books, puzzles and games. We place them in our Book Nook. All funds that we raise go straight back into providing the majority of funding for all of the free programs that our library offers!

If so, come by the Friends of Cypress Library booth to check out our selection of donated books for sale. We'll be on the "Green" (Cypress Civic Center grass area) from 5pm to 8pm. Meet amazing animals from deserts around the world, from the Sonora to the Sahara! Discover their wild survival secrets, hear their incredible stories, and learn how we can help protect them.
Stay for Lunch at the Library afterwards where children 18 and under are provided with a free lunch. Meals are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Summer Reading Program Kick-off Event with Author Benson Shum!
Benson Shum is an award-winning children's book author and illustrator. His books, Anzu the Great Listener and Anzu the Great Kaiju were selected as Kid's Indie Next List Recommend by the American Booksellers Association (ABA) and awarded for Outstanding Achievement in Social Emotional Literature (SEL) by the Children's Literature Council of Southern California (CLCSC). Benson is also an Animator at the Walt Disney Animation Studios.
