Connecting East Pasco’s Future 🤝

We were proud to attend the annual Access East Pasco event—an important opportunity to connect business professionals, community leaders, government officials, and regional influencers who are helping shape the future of East Pasco County.

The morning brought together local leaders for networking, meaningful conversations, and an engaging panel discussion focused on government, infrastructure, education, economic development, and the continued growth of our community.

Events like Access East Pasco highlight the importance of collaboration as our region continues to grow and new opportunities emerge.

We’re proud to be part of a community where local leaders and businesses come together to build a stronger future for East Pasco! 🇺🇸

🏠 Celebrating a New Beginning! ❤️💙

This morning, Captain Moreno had the honor of attending the Habitat for Humanity Home Dedication for the Scott Family—a wonderful celebration of community, perseverance, and a family’s new beginning.

This home holds a special connection to the Dade City Police Department. Last year, Chief Ann Starling proudly participated in Habitat for Humanity’s Women Build project, helping construct homes for local families, including the Scott family’s new home.

We are proud to see the work of our community come full circle and grateful for organizations like Habitat for Humanity that bring people together to make a lasting difference.

Congratulations to the Scott Family on your beautiful new home! 🏡🎉

🦟🚁 SEEING A HELICOPTER IN THE AREA?

If you see a low-flying helicopter in the Dade City area, there’s no need to be alarmed. Pasco County Mosquito Control is conducting aerial mosquito-control operations in the area.

These helicopters are used to treat areas where mosquito activity is high and help reduce mosquito populations and the risk of mosquito-borne diseases. Treatments may take place during the daytime or after sunset, depending on the type of treatment being conducted.

So, if you look up and see a helicopter making some unusual flight patterns—they’re working to keep the mosquitoes down! 🦟⬇️

A Little Blue Goes a Long Way 💙👮‍♀️

Sometimes, the smallest moments can make the biggest impression. ❤️

Recently, Officer Negersmith encountered a young Dade City resident, Maverick, while out in the community. His grandma pointed out our officers and reminded him that police officers are the “good guys” he can turn to when he needs help.

Officer Negersmith decided to make the moment even more memorable. She activated her emergency lights, came over to meet Maverick, and gave him a Dade City Police badge sticker. She then invited him over to her patrol vehicle, where he got to see the equipment inside and even experience the excitement of the siren! 🚔🚨

At just 3 years old, Maverick may not remember every detail of that day, but we hope he remembers one important thing: our officers are here for him, and he can always ask us for help.

Thank you to Maverick and his Grandma, Tami, for sharing this wonderful story! And a special thank-you to Officer Negersmith for taking the time to build a positive connection with one of our youngest community members.

This is what community policing is all about. 💙

Congratulations, Sergeant Amatruda, on this outstanding achievement and your commitment to professional growth and serving our community!

🚨 DRIVE SOBER OR GET PULLED OVER 🚨

The message is simple: If you drink, don’t drive.

During the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over initiative, the Dade City Police Department is reminding everyone to make responsible choices behind the wheel. Impaired driving puts you, your passengers, and everyone else on the road at risk.

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Neil D. Crouch, a valued member of the Dade City Police Department.

Neil was serving the Dade City community as a Public Safety Information Operator on August 16, 2026, when he suffered a medical emergency while on duty in our Dispatch Center.

Neil was more than a dedicated public servant. He was a colleague, a friend, and a source of kindness and commitment to all who knew him. His life was dedicated to serving others and making a difference in his community.

Neil’s commitment to public service spanned decades and many areas of emergency and community service, from police officer, to 911 dispatcher, to teacher. Throughout his life, he answered the call to serve others. His service, dedication, and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

We ask our community to join us in honoring Neil’s memory and to keep his loved ones, friends, and our Dade City Police Department family in your prayers during this difficult time.

Details regarding memorial arrangements will be shared as they become available.

Rest easy, Neil. Your service mattered. Your friendship mattered. And your legacy will not be forgotten. 💙

Connecting Our Community 🤝🐾

Members of the Dade City Police Department were proud to attend a breakfast hosted by the East Pasco Chamber of Commerce!

Events like these provide a great opportunity to connect with local business owners, community leaders, and fellow Chamber members while building relationships that strengthen our community.

During the breakfast, Chief of Police Ann Starling had the opportunity to introduce everyone to one of the newest members of the Dade City Police Department family — K-9 Ghost! 🐕‍🦺

We appreciate the East Pasco Chamber of Commerce and their sponsors for bringing our community together and creating opportunities for collaboration and continued growth.
