🍁Canadian steel for a Canadian icon.

Installing the Peace Tower’s steel exoskeleton is now underway, marking a major milestone in the rehabilitation of Centre Block.

Made from 100% Canadian steel and supplied and installed by Walters Group of Hamilton, Ontario, the structure highlights the talent, craftsmanship and industrial expertise helping to restore and modernize one of Canada’s most recognizable landmarks.

The exoskeleton will support the installation of scaffolding around the Peace Tower, allowing restoration work to move forward safely and efficiently. The scaffolding will be enclosed with protective tarping and covered with a trompe l’oeil to help shield workers from the elements while the work takes place.

The Canadian flag will continue to fly from the Peace Tower while work is underway.

Weekend closures on the Alexandra Bridge ⬇️

The bridge will be closed to motorists for maintenance work during the following periods:

- From Saturday, October 24, at 6 am to Sunday, October 25, at 7 pm
- From Saturday, October 31, at 6 am to Sunday, November 1, at 7 pm
- From Saturday, November 7, at 6 am to Sunday, November 8, at 7 pm

The boardwalk will remain accessible to pedestrians and cyclists.
