📢 STAY HOME 📢

If you are able to stay off the roads this morning, do so.

Blowing snow and whiteout conditions make travel extremely hazardous throughout Menominee County. The highway and side roads are not clear. Unless they pose a threat to the safety of others, vehicles in the ditch will not be removed until conditions improve.

The wintry mix of heavy wet snow, sleet, freezing rain, and rain continues over the Yoop today before transitioning over to light snow tonight. Expect hazardous travel and some power outages today.

There is a lot of uncertainty with the incoming winter storm this weekend, Ive seen anywhare from a glaze of ice to over a quarter inch of ice so it’s very uncertain. But it wouldn’t hurt to have extra gas for generators on hand as well as flashlights and extra batteries!!

Also roads will become extremely slippery so please try to avoid any extra traveling if possible!

RIP brother!!! We will take it from here!! Prayers to family and friends!

It is with a heavy heart the Green Bay Metro Fire Department announces the line of duty death of Engineer/Paramedic Tyler Kreiter, age 43.

Tyler was assigned to Fire Station 6, located at 1701 W Mason. He faithfully served our department, residents, and our community for 17 years. Tyler exemplified what it means to be a Green Bay Metro Firefighter. The courage and determination he displayed in the performance of his duties were outmatched only by his spirit in his fight against cancer.

We extend our deepest condolences and prayers to the family, friends, and colleagues of Tyler. Thank you for respecting the privacy of the Kreiter family during this extraordinarily difficult time.
