Dahlonega and Lumpkin County has lost another one of its great historians. We are learning of the death of Jimmy Anderson who passed away on Friday, October 9th. Jimmy was a lifetime member of the Lumpkin County Historical Society as well as one of the inaugural members of the Dahlonega Cemetery Committee. Jimmy spent a lifetime saving, recording and documenting many stories and family histories of Lumpkin County. He will be deeply missed.

We did a drive through Mt. Hope and Memorial Park Cemeteries yesterday to see if there was any damage resulting from the tropical storm on Saturday. No trees down, only a few branches but the flags on the veteran's graves got a thrashing.
