📣 Exciting News for Daingerfield! 🍽️📚

While we were sad to see Mug Shots close its doors, we’re thrilled to share that the beloved local space will soon be serving the community in a brand-new way!

Starting August 25, 2025, Mug Shots will host night classes through a new partnership with Northeast Texas Community College (NTCC)! As part of the NTCC Culinary Arts Department, courses like Safety and Sanitation, which includes ServSafe Manager Certification and more will be offered right here in Daingerfield.

This soft launch marks the beginning of a great collaboration that brings education, opportunity, and workforce development directly to our citizens.

You may have noticed some new concrete at the corner of Taylor St and Broadnax. That is the future site of the Texas Heritage National Bank’s new ATM. It will be a well lit, highly visible location with added security. Projected completion date is by the end of January 2025. Texas Heritage National Bank is committed to providing our community with the best and most convenient service in banking. We are glad they are investing in Daingerfield.

The DEDC wants to ensure that any information related to building projects in the City of Daingerfield is both accurate and from a reliable source. Information posted on the DEDC page is the most up to date and accurate information as it will come straight from developers or their official spokesperson. One of the several projects in town that is currently receiving the most excitement and attention is the Cubbies Travel Center project. The DEDC and the City of Daingerfield is in constant contact with the developer regarding the project. We encourage the residents of Daingerfield to be patient during the construction process of this project, and disregard any rumors you read on social media as they are often far from accurate. Please see the official statement from our City Manager below and check only the DEDC page for accurate updates moving forward.

This morning we noticed the sun rising on yet another EDC funded business project in Daingerfield. Lindbergh Construction is in the process of renovating an existing building on Linda Dr. to house their new business offices and construction showroom. The fresh update to this location is playing a huge part in the revitalization of our town.

Thank you KETK for the publicity on the Irvin Park Complex. We do want to clarify though.. the “Tiger Pride” comment about the exterior was referring to the Blue and White exterior. There are no plans for a mural at this time as far as we know. The DEDC is simply funding the project and are not the contractors overseeing the work. Thank you for your continued support of Daingerfield and the Daingerfield Economic Development Corporation.

If you haven’t been to Irvin Park lately, things are progressing very well on the new DEDC funded bathroom and concession project. Charles Evans and his Lindbergh Construction crew are doing a great job. As you can see, both restrooms will have multiple stalls and sinks and more importantly 3 tons of AC and plenty of heat for both the restrooms and concession stand. The facade will get a brand new facelift that will scream “Tiger Pride”. The DEDC is proud to put money back into Daingerfield. We encourage you to check the DEDC page for the most accurate and reliable information regarding project updates in Daingerfield. Our next meeting is scheduled for Sept. 4th at 4 PM at the City Hall. All are invited to attend.

On June 27, 2023 the Chamber of Commerce of Daingerfield posted that Cubbie’s was officially committed to coming to Daingerfield and would revitalize the former Jones Shopping Center. Though little has been seen since the announcement, a lot has been taking place in way of survey’s, engineering, planning and design. A project of this magnitude cannot and should not be designed and built without proper planning and attention to detail. The DEDC has been in close and regular contact with the developers and the city of Daingerfield regarding this project since before it was announced last year. Though the developers have not requested any financial assistance as of yet, the DEDC has assisted them with legwork to help them maintain their schedule. The city has been very helpful to them in agreeing to assist with updating parts of an outdated infrastructure that will benefit our town and those passing through. As you see, equipment is being delivered to the site and we are proud to confirm that the project is on go. The proper building permits have been applied for and approved by our city manager and excavation/ site prep is scheduled to begin promptly. If you just can’t wait to visit Cubbie’s, you can get a glimpse of what to expect by visiting their Mount Pleasant Location on I-30.
