Yesterday afternoon, April 15th, Dale Fire & Rescue members knocked on doors and attempted to contact residents of Caledonia who live in low lying river areas that are at risk for flooding and are recommended to evacuate.

Public emergency shelters are in place:

- Washington Center in New London located at 500 W Washington Street

- Weyewega Community Center located at 109 E Main Street

- make sure to pack your phone chargers and medications. Pets not accepted at the shelters.

Please be aware that if you do not evacuate, and it does flood we cannot guarantee emergency vehicles and responders can get to you.

The RAVE Mobile Safety system is the official alert messaging system. This system will send emergency notifications and safety guidance to help residents make informed decisions when it matters most. Rave alerts are sent directly to your phone or email.

❄️ Snow Safety Reminder! ❄️

With all the snow we’ve been getting, don’t forget to clear the snow away from your gas meter and exhaust pipes around your home. When these get buried, it can prevent proper ventilation and create a safety hazard.

✔️ Gently brush snow away from gas meters, pipes, and vents
✔️ Keep a clear path around them after heavy snowfall
✔️ Use a broom instead of a shovel to avoid damage
A quick 30-second check can help keep your home safe and your heat running properly! Stay warm out there! 🔥🏠

What a day! We are so fortunate to have such a great turnout for such an important event. From the neighboring departments, fellow firefighters, and EMS folks, and all our friends, family, and supporters THANK YOU for showing up and supporting our department.
