CANDIDATE SPOTLIGHT: Congressman Ben Cline (R-VA) – Fighting for Virginia’s 6th District

Proud conservative. Proven fighter. America First.

Ben Cline is running for reelection to continue delivering results for the Shenandoah Valley, Roanoke Valley, and Alleghany Highlands.

Who He Is

Born February 29, 1972, raised in Rockbridge County, Virginia. Lexington High School graduate. Bates College. University of Richmond Law. Husband to Elizabeth and father of two daughters. Lives in Botetourt County. Lifelong Virginian with deep roots in our communities.

Experience That Matters

Staffer and eventually Chief of Staff to former Congressman Bob Goodlatte

Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney

Private practice attorney

16 years in the Virginia House of Delegates (chaired Militia, Police & Public Safety)

U.S. House since 2019 — reelected in 2020, 2022, and 2024

He’s not a career politician from Northern Virginia or Richmond.

He’s one of us.

Powerful Committee Assignments

Judiciary • Appropriations • Intelligence • Budget

These seats put him right in the middle of the fights that matter: border security, regulatory reform, national security, and holding the line on spending.

What He’s Fighting For

✅ Secure borders and ending the invasion

✅ Second Amendment rights (strong record, including Hearing Protection Act leadership)

✅ Pro-life values — defending the unborn

✅ Tax relief and regulatory freedom for working families and small businesses

✅ Supporting farmers with estate tax relief and a strong farm bill

✅ Veterans’ benefits and expanding opportunities for those who served

✅ Cutting government waste and rolling back Democrat overreach

In his own words when he announced reelection:

“Despite Democrats’ efforts to silence nearly half of the state and erase our community’s values through illegal gerrymandering, we are still here… I will never stop championing our shared common-sense, conservative values… Making America — and the great Commonwealth of Virginia — Great Again.”

The 2026 Race

The Republican primary is behind him. Now it’s full speed ahead against Democrat Beth Macy in November.

Virginia’s 6th is solid conservative country. Ben Cline has delivered for it — and he’s ready to keep fighting for our values in Washington.

Stand with Ben Cline.
Conservative. Effective. Unapologetic.

Bert Mizusawa – A Lifetime of Service, Ready to Fight for Virginia

Retired U.S. Army Major General. Harvard-educated attorney. Combat-decorated leader. Republican nominee for U.S. Senate in Virginia (challenging incumbent Mark Warner in November 2026).

Who He Is

Bert Kameaaloha Mizusawa (born 1957 in Honolulu) grew up in a military family that lived across the U.S., Europe, and Asia before settling in Hampton, Virginia. He graduated first in his class (“number one man”) from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point in 1979, later earning a J.D. from Harvard Law School and a Master of Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School. He is also a two-time MacArthur Fellow in International Security.

He served 36+ years in the U.S. Army (1979–2015), rising to Major General. Key highlights include:

Airborne Ranger who commanded elite units

Silver Star for valor in the 1984 Korean DMZ firefight, where he led his company under fire and personally guided a Soviet defector to safety

Commander of the Combined Joint Interagency Task Force–Afghanistan

Senior roles on the Joint Staff and as Reserve Assistant to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff

In government service he worked as a Professional Staff Member on the Senate Armed Services Committee (co-authoring key defense legislation including the Quadrennial Defense Review framework), served as a three-star-equivalent Senior Executive / Deputy Under Secretary of the Army, and later as Senior Advisor to the CIA Director on national security technology and business integration. He also advised the 2016 Trump campaign on foreign policy.

He is an attorney admitted in New York, D.C., Virginia, and the U.S. Supreme Court, and runs a technology/security consulting firm.

Core Priorities

National Security & Military: Pro-military leadership that prioritizes readiness, supports service members and veterans, and avoids micromanaging combat operations. Virginia deserves a Senator with real combat and strategic experience.
Fiscal Responsibility: Focus government on core functions and rein in excessive spending. The national debt has more than tripled since Warner entered the Senate.
Taxes & Economy: Simplify the tax code with fewer brackets and larger standard deductions. Promote growth, manufacturing, and opportunity across all of Virginia (including Southwest Virginia).

Border Security & Immigration: Secure borders, enforce the law, make legal immigration easier, and require assimilation into American culture and values.
Second Amendment: Strong defense of the constitutional right to keep and bear arms.

Energy: Expand clean, reliable, affordable nuclear power to lower household costs.
Virginia Values: Faith, family, freedom, and limited government.

Why It Matters

Virginia has the highest per-capita defense spending in the nation yet currently lacks a high-ranking, combat-decorated military veteran in the U.S. Senate. Mizusawa brings rare experience spanning the military (flag rank), Congress (Senate staff), Pentagon (senior executive), and intelligence community.

Tagline from his campaign: “A proven leader protecting Virginia’s values and securing America’s future.”
