📸 We met with Dalhart Mayor James Stroud, Dalhart City Manager J.J. Oznick and Police Chief Tommy Hughes.

During the meeting, we discussed the importance of strengthening coordination between the Consulate of Mexico in Albuquerque and local authorities, promoting awareness of the right to consular notification, and ensuring timely assistance for Mexican nationals who may require support.

We also highlighted the valuable contributions of the Mexican community to Dalhart’s economic, social, and cultural development.

We thank the local authorities for their openness to dialogue and their commitment to maintaining close communication for the benefit of our community. 🇲🇽🤝🇺🇸

Today, Chief Hughes, City Manager JJ Oznick, and Mayor James Stroud had the pleasure of meeting and speaking with the Consulate of Mexico staff from Albuquerque. It is always great to have contacts in public relations from outside areas to aid and assist both locally and in Mexico.

As we celebrate Independence Day, the City of Dalhart Police Department would like to wish everyone a safe and happy Fourth of July!

As a reminder, fireworks within the Dalhart city limits are illegal. Fireworks pose a significant fire risk, can cause serious injuries and often create distress for veterans, young children and pets.

If you choose to celebrate with fireworks, please do only in areas they are legally permitted and follow safety guidelines.

Don’t forget about your furry family members: keep pets indoors in a secure, comfortable area, ensure they have updated identification tags or microchip information. Close windows and doors to help frightened pets from escaping and consider playing music or television to help mask loud noises.

Together, we can make this Independence Day safe and enjoyable for everyone in the community.
