πŸŒͺ️⚑ SEVERE THUNDERSTORM SAFETY ALERT ⚑πŸŒͺ️
Severe thunderstorms can strike quickly β€” bringing dangerous lightning, hail, flash flooding, and powerful winds. Preparation can save lives. Here's what you NEED to know:
________________________________________
πŸ”” BEFORE THE STORM:
β€’ βœ… Sign up for local weather alerts (NOAA, Weather App, etc.)
β€’ 🧰 Prepare an emergency kit with flashlight, batteries, first-aid, water, and snacks
β€’ πŸš— Charge phones and backup power banks
β€’ 🌳 Trim dead branches near your home
________________________________________
β›ˆοΈ DURING THE STORM:
β€’ 🏠 Stay Indoors β€” the safest place is inside a sturdy building
β€’ πŸ”Œ Unplug electronics to protect against power surges
β€’ 🚫 Avoid using plumbing (yes, lightning can travel through pipes!)
β€’ πŸͺŸ Stay away from windows β€” high winds and debris can shatter glass
β€’ πŸ“± Monitor local weather updates or radio alerts for warnings
________________________________________
🌊 IF YOU’RE ON THE ROAD:
β€’ πŸ›‘ Pull over safely and turn on your hazard lights
β€’ 🌊 NEVER drive through floodwaters β€” just 6 inches can sweep your vehicle away
β€’ πŸ—ΊοΈ Be aware of low-lying areas prone to flooding
________________________________________
⚠️ REMEMBER:
πŸ—£οΈ β€œWhen thunder roars, go indoors!”
Lightning can strike from miles away β€” don’t wait to seek shelter.
