🗓️ Emergency Exercise Planned – Saturday, April 11, 2026 🗓️

Dallas County Emergency Management, with the Dallas County First Responder Association, will be conducting a hazmat & mass casualty exercise north of Adel at the Human Services Campus. Emergency vehicles will be staged at the Minburn Fire Department and will travel between the two locations.

You may notice an increased presence of emergency vehicles and responders throughout the area—this is only a drill.

Exercises like this help strengthen coordination, improve response times, and ensure our community is prepared for real emergencies.

With our first snow in the near future, DCFD reminds all property owners that have fire hydrants on their right of way to clear the snow around it. Clearing the snow saves valuable time in an emergency. This winter is forecasted to see above normal snow so as it piles up this will become even more important. Also if you are traveling in the coming days make sure you have a winter readiness kit in your car as well as a full tank of fuel. Road conditions will become hazardous as the snow moves in. Get the latest conditions over at www.511ia.org or the 511 IA app for android and iPhone.

Stay safe everyone!

A huge Thank You to everyone who came out to have dinner with us. Your generosity allowed us to raise over $1300 which will be used to help purchase tools and gear for our department as well as bring in outside professionals for training opportunities.

We hope to see everyone again soon on the 25th of October for the Haloween night festivities. We plan to have the roving fire trucks out handing out candy as usual.
