We’ve found a temporary workaround, and our phones should now be up and running again!

We’re still working through some system issues and hope to have the original phone line fully repaired soon. In the meantime, you can continue reaching us at the same phone number as before.

Thank you for your patience and understanding!

⚠️ PHONE UPDATE: Dallas Center City Hall ⚠️

City Hall phones are still down due to suspected line damage. CenturyLink has given us a 10-day timeline for a technician dispatch, which we know is not ideal.

City staff are working on setting up a temporary phone system so we can take your calls sooner and receive any faxes from 1995.

Please contact us via email or FB messenger for any immediate needs. We will post updates here as soon as the temporary lines are live. Thank you for your understanding!

We hope everyone stayed safe during the first round of storms. As many of you know, the storms brought down a significant number of tree limbs and branches throughout the community. Our crews are working hard to clear roads and address storm-related debris as quickly as possible.

If you have small limbs or branches that need to be collected, please ensure they are bundled according to Waste Management requirements:

- Branches must be bundled and tied with string or twine (not wire).
- Branches must be cut into lengths of 4 feet or less.
- Each branch must be no more than 4 inches in diameter.
- Each bundle must weigh no more than 50 pounds.
- Yard waste should be placed in biodegradable paper bags or approved containers with a maximum weight of 40 pounds.
- Unbundled brush will not be collected.

Properly bundled small limb and branch debris will be picked up on Monday during regular trash collection.

If you have a large amount of storm debris or downed trees that exceed these requirements, please contact City Hall via email at [email protected]. We will work with you to determine the best solution for cleanup. City Hall phones are still not working properly. Our email will be monitored frequently.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we continue recovery efforts throughout the community.

Residents of Dallas Center,
As we head into summer and the end of another fiscal year, we wanted to take a moment to keep you informed of an upcoming billing correction. You may have noticed that late fees have not been applied since September 2025, during our software transition due to errors in the programming. We appreciate your patience as we worked through this process.
These issues have been fully resolved, and our billing system has been updated. Starting in July 2026, late fees will resume at a rate of 10% of your total bill per Chapter 92.04.3 of the Code of Ordinance.
We want to make sure this transition is as smooth as possible for everyone, so we request the following:
• To avoid late fees, please make sure your past due balance is paid by July 15th, 2026. Late fees will be applied beginning July 16th, 2026.
• If payment in full isn’t an option right now, please reach out to us before July 15th to discuss options of a payment plan, if applicable.
• You may pay via cash, check, online or you can set up automatic payments.
If you have any questions about your account or would like to discuss your options, please don’t hesitate to contact us at 515-992-3725, [email protected], or visit us at City Hall during regular business hours, M-F 7:30am-4pm.
Thank you for your continued patience and cooperation. We appreciate your understanding as we work to improve our services for the entire community.
