The need for a stronger safety net is growing across North Texas.

In 2026, 3,513 people were identified as experiencing homelessness on a single night in Dallas and Collin counties. Even more concerning, the number of households needing homelessness intervention each year has increased 83% since 2021.

For young people who have experienced foster care, CPS involvement, or housing instability, the path toward homelessness can begin long before they are seen sleeping outside.

STORM Center of Hope & Service walks alongside Pathfinders ages 13–28, helping them move from crisis toward stability through caring relationships, transportation, essential-needs assistance, life-skills experiences, crisis support, and resource navigation.

You may not be able to open your home to a young person in foster care—but you can open your heart and help build the safety net around them.

Our North Texas Giving Day goal is $10,000. Your support will strengthen our year-round work and help us prepare for Holiday Harmony, our annual community Christmas celebration. Although we are grateful to partner with Toys for Tots, age-appropriate gifts for teenagers can be more difficult to secure. We want every teen to feel remembered, valued, and included.

Will you help us reach our goal?

💙 Could You Be a Safe Place for a Child? ❤️

I’m sharing this because there are children and youth in foster care who are still waiting for safe, stable, loving homes.

Open Hearts Children and Family Services has launched a new foster parent referral program. If you or someone you know has ever considered becoming a foster parent, this may be the opportunity to take that next step.

They are looking for families AND single parents who are willing to open their homes and hearts to children who need consistency, support, and someone willing to stand in the gap.

As part of the new program:
❤️ Referred foster parents who complete the process can receive a $100 Visa gift card
🩵 The person making the referral can receive a $300 Visa gift card once the referred parent/family becomes licensed and meets the program requirements.

But beyond the incentive, this is about something much greater — changing the trajectory of a child’s life.

If you’re seriously interested in learning more about becoming a foster parent, message me privately. I’d be happy to connect you with Open Hearts.

And if fostering isn’t for you, please consider sharing this post. Someone in your circle may be exactly who a child is waiting for. ❤️

It takes a community to make sure our children have somewhere safe to belong.

Today was more than a talent showcase… it was a ripple effect of hope, healing, courage, and community. 💙💛

Sometimes when the heart truly aims to serve and support others, the blessings spread far beyond the moment itself. A single event can become:

✨ confidence for a young person who almost stayed silent,
✨ healing for someone who finally felt seen,
✨ hope for a caregiver who felt alone,
✨ inspiration for a volunteer,
✨ motivation for a partner organization,
✨ and renewal for the person carrying the vision.

“The Power Within” was a beautiful reminder that when people come together with love, encouragement, and purpose, lives are impacted in ways we may never fully see.

Today our Pathfinders didn’t just perform — they shined. They used their voices, gifts, creativity, and courage to remind everyone in the room that there is power within each of them.

Thank you to every supporter, volunteer, partner, family member, performer, and community member who helped make today special. This is what being “The Village” looks like.

The impact will continue long after the lights dimmed and the curtains closed. ❤️
