Judge Juan Renteria

Judge Juan Renteria Judge Juan Renteria presides over Dallas County Court at Law No. 5. Prior to this, he served as Associate Judge for the City of Dallas, a misdemeanor court.

Judge Renteria currently presides over Dallas County Court at Law No. 5, a civil county court. He has also served as a school board member for (Carrollton-Farmers Branch). Judge Renteria was the first in his family to attend college. His family instilled in him the ethic of hard and honest work. He grew up in the Rio Grande Valley and is fluent in Spanish. Judge Renteria is licensed in New

York and Texas. He's been a practicing attorney with experience in criminal, civil and federal cases. Over the past 16 years, Mr. Renteria has been recognized as a Top 100 Trial Lawyer, has volunteered his time to assist low income individuals with tax questions and volunteered to help immigrants at the Mexican Consulate. Judge Renteria has taught Blacks, Chicanos and the Law, Federal Courts at the University of Texas at San Antonio as an adjunct professor. As well, he advised corporate clients in Dallas and New York, most notably, Bossip. Judge Renteria believes that the court should be efficient and fair. The court’s responsibility includes ensuring the law is followed and applied equally to all persons, regardless of who they are or where they come from. A judge should be pragmatic and fair.
