Well we are always taught to adapt and overcome and it was either weather the wind or face the heat inside with a broken air conditioner! We adjusted and made the best of an impromptu outdoor ceremony!

Congratulations to the well-deserving Maj Lovell (aka:TSgt Finney for some older folks) on her promotion today! Col Lewis pointed out that she has been a member of the 254 CCG longer then any other current Airmen! Here’s to many more years!

On behalf of Colonel Jeffery Young, Commander, 254th CCG

With the traditional festivities of December upon us, I want to wish you all the happiest possible Holidays, and to say thank you for the outstanding service and support you provide to our Air Force and nation. I continue to be humbled by your selfless dedication and the outstanding job you do every day around the globe. 2018 has been another stellar year for the 254th and its squadrons. From contingency deployments to numerous exercises to domestic operations, each of you rallied to every challenge and every tasking. You have repeatedly demonstrated the ability to deliver critical combat communications capabilities under any conditions. I cannot thank you enough for your dedication to service and your constant push for excellence. While equipment is vital to our mission, no mission would ever be successful without professional Airmen like you.

I hope you will use your well-deserved downtime this month to reflect on the past year and to prepare for the year to come. Also let us give thanks to the many blessings we enjoy as Americans and to thank the many Airmen who will spend the Holidays in an outpost far from family this year. They are there ensuring we have this chance to deck the halls, gather around family dinner tables, and belt out Auld Lang Syne in a storm of confetti. Please consider sending them a holiday greeting and remember them in your thoughts and prayers. Most of all, be safe and enjoy the holiday season to its fullest. Celebrate responsibly: You are important to our Air Force family and we need every one of you to return in January. Don't let bad judgment ruin the New Year or your life. Look out for each other, and keep an eye on your Airmen who may be having a difficult time. Whether you plan to celebrate Christmas or Hanukkah or just welcome the New Year, my sincerest hope is that each of you will enjoy the Holidays and return refreshed, recharged and ready for another year of challenges and successes.
